Privacy

This site collects nothing about you, only what every web server logs for technical reasons (see Hosting), and your address if you join the waitlist. No cookies, no tracking, no third-party fonts. YouTube videos load only when you click play.

This is a translation for convenience. The German version is legally binding.

This applies to the website. The app's privacy policy will come with the app.

Hosting and server log files

The site is hosted on Firebase Hosting, a service of Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland. When you visit, the server processes technically necessary data: your IP address, date and time, the file requested and your browser's user agent.

The purpose is to run the site securely and reliably. The legal basis is my legitimate interest under Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR. I don't analyse this data myself.

Data may be transferred to the USA in the process. Google is certified under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework; the transfer is based on the European Commission's adequacy decision (Art. 45 GDPR).

Contact by email

If you email me, I process your address and your message in order to reply. The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR where a contract is concerned, otherwise point (f). Emails are handled by Apple iCloud Mail (Apple Distribution International Ltd., Ireland). I delete them once they are no longer needed.

Waitlist

If you join the waitlist, I store your email address in order to write to you when fak10 comes out, and perhaps before that when Anna learns something new. The legal basis is your consent under Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR.

The list is kept by the email service Brevo (Sendinblue SAS, 106 boulevard Haussmann, 75008 Paris, France), under a data processing agreement; the data is stored in the EU. After you submit the form, you get a confirmation email (double opt-in). Only once you click it are you on the list. Brevo records the time and IP address of sign-up and confirmation as proof of your consent.

Brevo counts opens and clicks only anonymously, without linking them to your address. You can withdraw your consent at any time: via the unsubscribe link in every email or by writing to info@fak10.app. Once you unsubscribe, you get no more emails; your address stays on a block list only so that it stays that way. On request I delete it entirely, an email to info@fak10.app is enough.

Beta application

If you apply for the beta, I store your email address and your answers to the questionnaire (platform, device and version, age group, language, how you organise things today, what you'd tell Anna first, whether you'd join a call). I only use them to choose testers, invite you to TestFlight and write to you during the beta. Legal basis: your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR); you must be at least 16.

Applications are stored with Brevo (Sendinblue SAS, Paris) in the EU, like the waitlist, with a confirmation email (double opt-in); Brevo logs the time and IP address of sign-up and confirmation as proof. If I choose you, I invite you via Apple's TestFlight; Apple sends the invitation, and the app's own privacy policy applies as well.

After the beta ends I delete your answers and remove you from the beta list. If you're also on the waitlist, only your address stays there. You can withdraw at any time via the unsubscribe link or by emailing info@fak10.app.

Feelings survey

The feelings survey is voluntary and anonymous. Only your answers (up to 32 numbers from 1 to 9), your gender answer, the page language, the survey version and the month are stored: no name, no IP address, no cookie, no identifier. I only evaluate in aggregate and publish averages once a group has 30 answers. The legal basis is your consent under Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR; you must be at least 16.

Answers are stored in Cloud Firestore, a Firebase service (Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland), in the Frankfurt am Main data centre. Google processes the data as a processor under the Google Cloud data processing terms. When you submit, Google technically sees your IP address; it is not stored with your answer. Firestore internally records when each entry was created; I only use the month for the evaluation. For any transfer to the USA, the same applies as for hosting.

After you submit, your browser remembers locally that you took part, so the page can tell you. This marker never leaves your device; you can remove it by clearing the site data for fak10.app. Because your answer can't be traced to you, I can't delete or hand it out individually later (Art. 11 GDPR).

YouTube videos

Some posts show a YouTube video. Until you click play, you only see a preview image from this server, and no connection to YouTube is made. The click loads the player from youtube-nocookie.com, YouTube's privacy-enhanced mode. Your browser then sends, among other things, your IP address and the address of this page to Google Ireland Limited (Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland); YouTube may store and analyse data. Google's privacy policy applies, which we have no influence over. The legal basis is your consent by clicking (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR).

Links to social networks

The links to Mastodon, Bluesky, X, YouTube and Instagram are plain links. Only when you click one do you leave this site; from then on, that provider's privacy terms apply.

Your rights

You have the right of access, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing, objection and data portability (Art. 15–21 GDPR). An email to info@fak10.app is enough.

You can also lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority, for example the Hamburg Commissioner for Data Protection and Freedom of Information (HmbBfDI), datenschutz-hamburg.de.
